The Star Gold Coast

Queensland's casino heart — where the Gold Coast comes to play.

Broadbeach Island, Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia

Operated by: The Star Entertainment Group Ltd.

The Star Gold Coast opened as Jupiter's Casino on November 21, 1987 on a man-made island in the Nerang River at Broadbeach — one of the Gold Coast's most central beach suburbs. It was Australia's first casino resort in Queensland and operated as Jupiter's for over three decades before The Star Entertainment Group completed a rebranding and major renovation in 2018.

The renovation introduced a new hotel tower — The Star Grand — which significantly upgraded the property's luxury positioning. Together with the older property now branded The Darling Gold Coast, the complex offers approximately 600 hotel rooms and suites. A rooftop terrace, redesigned lobby and casino floor, and new culinary concepts were introduced as part of the AUD 345 million investment.

The casino floor covers approximately 17,000 square metres with around 1,400 gaming machines and 100 table games. The property's island setting — accessed via two pedestrian bridges from the Broadbeach entertainment precinct — provides natural separation from the surrounding suburb while keeping the Gold Coast's restaurants, bars, and beach within a few minutes' walk. The Pacific Fair shopping centre, one of Australia's largest malls, is directly adjacent.
