Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City

Rock and roll on the Boardwalk — Atlantic City's music-themed casino icon.

1000 Boardwalk, Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA

Operated by: Hard Rock International

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City opened on June 28, 2018, transforming the site and physical shell of the former Trump Taj Mahal — the 1990 casino resort developed by Donald Trump that closed in October 2016 after multiple bankruptcies and ownership changes. Hard Rock International invested approximately USD 500 million in the renovation, stripping the Taj Mahal's ornate elephant-and-minaret aesthetic and replacing it with the brand's music-centred identity.

The casino occupies the historic 1990 Boardwalk tower, the largest single casino building in Atlantic City, with approximately 160,000 square feet of gaming space. The Hard Rock brand permeates the property: music memorabilia throughout the building (including items from The Beatles, Elvis Presley, and Jimi Hendrix), a purpose-built concert venue (Hard Rock Live at Etess Arena, seating 7,000), and a guitar-shaped design motif in the tower's exterior facade.

The resort offers 2,000 hotel rooms and suites across two towers. The poker room hosts major events throughout the year, and the race and sports book is one of the most active in New Jersey. Atlantic City Boardwalk access from the property's main entrance provides direct connectivity to the city's historic oceanfront promenade and adjacent casinos.
