Operated by: Apollo Global Management / VICI Properties
The Venetian Resort Las Vegas — comprising The Venetian (opened 1999) and The Palazzo (opened 2007) — is the largest hotel complex in the world by number of suites, with 7,117 all-suite rooms across both towers. The resort replaced the legendary Sands Hotel, which was famously demolished in 1996.
Developed by Sheldon Adelson and the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, The Venetian brought the aesthetics of Venice's Grand Canal, St. Mark's Square, and the Doge's Palace to the Las Vegas Strip. Indoor canals, singing gondoliers, hand-painted ceiling frescoes, and marble floors create an experience entirely unlike any other on the Strip.
The combined casino floor spans 225,000 square feet, making it one of the largest in Las Vegas. The Grand Canal Shoppes, a 450,000 square-foot luxury mall, runs through the centre of the complex. The resort's convention facilities — totalling 2.25 million square feet — make it one of the largest MICE destinations in North America, regularly hosting CES and other major technology conferences.
