The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Stylish, intimate, and art-forward — the Strip's most design-conscious luxury resort.
3708 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Operated by: MGM Resorts International
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas opened in December 2010 on a site between Bellagio and CityCenter — one of the most valuable parcels on the Las Vegas Strip. Developed originally by Deutsche Bank after a development bankruptcy, the property was subsequently acquired by Blackstone Group in 2014 before being sold to MGM Resorts International in 2021.
The Cosmopolitan carved a distinct identity on a Strip dominated by mega-resort spectacle. Its design sensibility — involving curated art installations throughout the property, bookshelves and unexpected details in public corridors, and a terrace suite product that places residential-style balconies directly overlooking the Strip — appealed to a younger, design-conscious demographic not traditionally targeted by Las Vegas casino resorts.
The casino floor spans approximately 100,000 square feet, weighted towards blackjack, poker, and slots, with a notably smaller baccarat presence than competing luxury properties. The resort is particularly known for its food and beverage offering: it houses more restaurants per square foot than most Strip competitors, including The Henry, Zuma, and a concentration of celebrity-chef concepts.
The Boulevard Pool, an elevated outdoor deck with direct views over the Strip, became one of the most photographed locations in Las Vegas and helped The Cosmopolitan establish itself as a social-media-native hospitality brand before that concept was fully understood in the industry.
