Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood opened in 2004, but the property's global profile transformed in October 2019 with the opening of the Guitar Hotel — a 450-foot guitar-shaped tower that has become one of the most recognisable casino buildings in the world. The silhouette of two guitars facing each other, illuminated nightly and framing the resort's entrance, serves as both a marketing icon and a genuine architectural statement. The tower added 638 rooms to the resort, bringing the total to approximately 1,200 rooms.

The Seminole Tribe of Florida acquired the Hard Rock brand and all its associated businesses (including Hard Rock Café restaurants worldwide) from the Rank Group and Bass Hotels in 2006 for USD 965 million — the largest acquisition in tribal gaming history. This means the Seminole Tribe both operates the resort and owns the global Hard Rock brand, an unusual vertical integration.

The casino floor spans approximately 140,000 square feet with over 3,100 gaming machines and 195 table games. South Florida's large Latin American population and significant tourism from Latin America and the Caribbean create a distinctive, cosmopolitan casino demographic that differs from typical US gaming markets. The resort's music focus — Hard Rock memorabilia throughout, major concerts at the adjacent Seminole Hard Rock Live arena — reflects the brand's foundational DNA.
