Foxwoods Resort Casino

The world's largest casino complex by total number of gaming machines.

350 Trolley Line Blvd, Mashantucket, Connecticut, USA

Operated by: Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation

Foxwoods Resort Casino, operated by the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation in the woodlands of eastern Connecticut, holds the record for the largest casino complex in the world by total number of gaming machines. The tribal nation operated a bingo hall from 1986, transitioned to full casino gaming in 1992, and by the mid-1990s had become the most profitable casino in the world — a position it maintained until the Connecticut market matured.

Foxwoods now encompasses six distinct casino buildings connected by enclosed walkways, totalling approximately 340,000 square feet of gaming space across multiple floors. Over 5,200 slot machines and electronic games, and more than 250 live table games make it a destination for day-trippers from New York City (approximately 2.5 hours) and Boston (approximately 2 hours).

The resort offers four hotels with approximately 2,244 rooms, a spa, a 1,400-seat fox theatre for headline entertainment, and a wide range of dining from casual to fine dining. The MGM Grand at Foxwoods tower — a hotel-within-a-resort co-branded with MGM — is the flagship hotel offering. Foxwoods also operates a golf complex and is home to the Mashantucket Pequot Museum & Research Center, one of the largest Native American cultural museums in North America.
