Reverse Martingale (Parlay System)
Double after wins, reset after losses — a positive progression that maximises winning streaks while capping downside at one base unit per sequence.
The Reverse Martingale (also called the Parlay or Anti-Martingale) inverts the classic logic: instead of doubling after losses, you double after wins and return to the base unit after any loss. The concept is to 'let winnings ride' while keeping exposure to a single unit at risk.
Structure
Set a base unit and a target number of consecutive wins (commonly 3):
1. Bet 1 unit → Win → bet 2 units 2. Bet 2 units → Win → bet 4 units 3. Bet 4 units → Win → RESET, bank 7 units profit
Any loss at any stage: restart at 1 unit.
Core Advantages
- —Maximum loss per sequence: 1 unit
- —No exponentially increasing bets regardless of losing streaks
- —Capital at risk after the first win is 'house money' — psychologically comfortable
- —Easy to execute at any table
Pre-Commit to Your Target
The critical discipline: decide your target number of consecutive wins *before* you start and reset without exception. Letting sequences run indefinitely guarantees eventual loss of all accumulated winnings.
Mathematical Reality
The house edge applies to every individual bet. Positive progressions like the Reverse Martingale do not generate positive expectation — they redistribute the timing of wins and losses. Treat it as a tool for enjoying winning streaks, not a route to guaranteed profit.
