The 1-3-2-6 Betting System
A structured four-step positive progression that aims to maximise profit from a four-win streak while protecting winnings at each stage.
The 1-3-2-6 system is a positive progression system designed for even-money casino bets. Unlike the Paroli (which doubles after each win), 1-3-2-6 follows a specific unit sequence: 1, 3, 2, 6 — representing the bet size at each consecutive win.
The Sequence
Starting with a 1-unit base bet: - Round 1: Bet 1 unit → WIN - Round 2: Bet 3 units → WIN (now up 4 units) - Round 3: Bet 2 units → WIN (now up 6 units) - Round 4: Bet 6 units → WIN → PROFIT of 12 units, restart
If you lose at any point, restart the cycle from 1 unit.
Why 3-2-6 Instead of Doubling?
The 1-3-2-6 is designed so that: - After Round 2 (3 units): Even if you lose Round 3, you have broken even - After Round 3 (2 units): Even if you lose Round 4, you have banked 2 units profit - Only Round 1 uses purely 'own' money — subsequent rounds use increasingly large proportions of winnings
This creates a series of natural 'lock-in' points where earlier winnings protect the player from net loss.
Risk Profile
- —Maximum loss per sequence: 1 unit (any single round loss)
- —Profit from successful 4-win sequence: 12 units from 1 unit at risk
- —Probability (European roulette even-money, 18/37): (18/37)^4 = 5.5%
Expected value per cycle: (0.055 × 12) − (0.945 × 1) = 0.66 − 0.945 = −0.285 units. The negative expected value confirms the house edge persists.
Best Applications
The 1-3-2-6 works best in baccarat (Banker bet) and even-money blackjack situations. It is a structured alternative to the Paroli for players who prefer a specific sequence rather than uniform doubling.
