Ponte 16

Heritage Macau meets intimate gaming — the Inner Harbour's most distinctive address.

Rua do Visconde Paço de Arcos, Inner Harbour, Macau

Operated by: Success Universe Group / SJM Holdings

Ponte 16 opened in February 2008 as a boutique integrated resort in the historic Inner Harbour district of the Macau Peninsula — the area that constituted old Macau's commercial heart during the Portuguese colonial era and is now part of the UNESCO World Heritage Zone buffer area. Jointly developed by Success Universe Group and SJM Holdings, the property takes its name from Pier 16, the departure point for the original Hong Kong-Macau ferries.

Unlike the grand-scale developments of the Cotai Strip, Ponte 16 was conceived as a smaller, more intimate resort that connects guests to Macau's colonial history rather than replacing it. The resort integrates with the adjacent heritage streetscape: the 16th-century Macau Tower and the surrounding Portuguese-era warehouses and merchant houses provide an architectural context entirely unlike the Strip.

The casino floor covers approximately 17,000 square metres — modest by Macau standards — with a focus on premium mass table games. The hotel component is the five-star Sofitel Macau at Ponte 16, offering 408 rooms with harbour-view rooms overlooking the Pearl River and the Guangdong coast. The resort's dining is structured around Chinese cuisine, particularly Cantonese and Shanghainese, reflecting SJM's deep roots in Macanese culture.
