Marina Bay Sands
The most photographed building in Asia — Singapore's defining skyline.
10 Bayfront Avenue, Marina Bay, Singapore
Operated by: Marina Bay Sands Pte. Ltd. (Las Vegas Sands Corp.)
Marina Bay Sands opened on April 27, 2010 and immediately became not only Singapore's most iconic building but one of the most recognised architectural structures in the world. Designed by Moshe Safdie, the three 55-storey towers are topped by the SkyPark — a 340-metre-long cantilevered platform housing the world's largest rooftop infinity pool, accessible only to hotel guests.
The integrated resort was the centrepiece of Singapore's strategy to attract high-value tourism and establish the island-state as Asia's premier business and leisure destination. By most measures it has succeeded spectacularly: Marina Bay Sands generates more revenue per square foot than any other casino resort on earth, and Singapore's two IRs together regularly produce among the highest gaming revenues globally, despite a population of only 5.6 million.
The casino floor spans 161,000 square metres across four levels, offering 500 gaming tables and 1,600 slot machines. The Sands Expo and Convention Centre adjacent to the property handles 45,000 convention delegates simultaneously. ArtScience Museum, designed as a lotus flower, houses permanent and travelling exhibitions of international significance.
