Baha Mar

The Caribbean's largest integrated resort — three hotels, one massive casino.

West Bay Street, Nassau, New Providence, The Bahamas

Operated by: Baha Mar Ltd. (Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Ltd.)

Baha Mar opened in April 2017 on Cable Beach in Nassau after a prolonged and high-profile construction saga: the resort was originally scheduled to open in December 2014 but was delayed by disputes between the developer and the construction contractor, culminating in the original developer filing for bankruptcy in 2015 before Hong Kong conglomerate Chow Tai Fook Enterprises acquired the project and completed it. The delays and drama made Baha Mar one of the most scrutinised resort construction projects in Caribbean history.

The completed resort is a genuine mega-resort on the Caribbean scale: three hotel brands — SLS Baha Mar, Rosewood Baha Mar, and Grand Hyatt Baha Mar — occupy distinct segments of the 1,000-acre property, together providing approximately 2,300 rooms. The Grand Hyatt is the largest of the three, with approximately 1,800 rooms, and caters to the mainstream leisure market. The Rosewood targets ultra-high-net-worth guests with a more intimate, villa-based product.

The casino at Grand Hyatt Baha Mar spans approximately 100,000 square feet — the largest casino floor in the Caribbean — with over 1,000 gaming machines and 120 table games. The resort also contains a Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course, 40 dining outlets, an ESPA spa, and access to the cable beach stretch.
