Atlantis Paradise Island

The mythical lost city brought to life in the Caribbean.

Paradise Island, Nassau, The Bahamas

Operated by: Brookfield Asset Management

Atlantis Paradise Island opened in its current form in 1998 when Sol Kerzner (the developer behind Sun City) transformed the existing Paradise Island resort into one of the most elaborate themed mega-resorts ever built. Inspired by the legend of Atlantis, the resort's architecture and interior design recreate a drowned ancient civilisation complete with an elaborate mythology.

The resort's core is the Royal Towers — two 23-storey structures connected by a 'bridge suite' that became one of the most photographed hotel rooms in the world. Across its three main hotel structures (The Royal, The Beach, The Coral) and the ultra-luxury Cove Atlantis, the resort totals approximately 3,500 rooms.

Aquaventure Water Park is one of the world's largest water parks, spanning 141 acres with 20+ waterslides, a mile-long river ride, and The Dig — a vast labyrinthine aquarium walkway allowing guests to pass through more than 11 million litres of water among sharks, rays, and tropical fish. The casino floor at Atlantis covers 40,000 square feet.
